Therefore, back then I decided to start knitting and sewing for my son myself, and later also for my nieces and the boys and girls of friends. This resulted in creating my own brand called “Babyball”, the goal being to return to a more thoughtful way of working in these times of soulless mass production.
Babyball is my brand for European style children's clothing strictly handmade by myself, e.g. featuring exclusive classic smocking, embroidering and pin-tucking. Sizes offered run from newborn to eight years old.
To me handmade means lots of love. I believe that, when you create something, part of you is in that garment, your time, skills, the fabrics and the models you choose, even what you think and feel as you work, are in the end part of the resulting clothes.I draw and cut my own patterns, I like to sew the old way, French seams, bias-binding, facings, ribboned edges, hand darning bias and often finishing with touches of hand embroidery and hand stitching.
